WHO CAN ATTEND MEETINGS?
The Compassionate Friends (TCF) was founded on the premise of providing peer-to-peer support to bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents. Most of our members are parents, step-parents, and adoptive parents who have lost a child.  Our East Of The River CT Chapter (EOTR) has caring sibling support and welcomes bereaved siblings of at least a young adult age.  We have a Dads-only subgroup and a Sibling Sub group.
We understand that family members and especially close friends need support and understanding, too. Sometimes the relationship isn’t about blood but about love. Bereaved individuals who experienced a sibling-like or child-like bond will never be turned away from our meetings. This allows a space for god-parents, close aunts and uncles, in-laws, deep friendships.
You are welcomed to bring a support person.
All of those attending a meeting must be mindful and respectful of our Meeting Guidelines and Privacy issues.
